Apparently it went okay but after rebooting the PC as I was asked it doesn't seem so (and the games still don't work). It wasn't possible to turn the read only mode off, and trying to run it from E: resulted in a blue screen.īut somehow I ended pulling it to C: so I tried installing it. But when I put the CD in the W98 PC the directx exe couldn't be copied from E: to C: because it was in read only mode, even through in the W10 PC it wasn't.
I downloaded DirectX 7.0 from and added it to a data CD where I had already recorded some drivers and files. Then I tried installing a later version of the game (PC Fútbol 5 Edición Oro) but the installation crashed as soon as it started, with something related to DirectX. I first tried installing PC Fútbol 5.0 and apparently the installation went okay, but when I try to run it a message appears saying the original CD-Rom is needed to start the game, even though it's inside the PC. I have few computing notions and I'm really lost here, but it seems to lack DirectX, so may that be the reason why? I recently bought an old computer with Windows 98 (Second Edition, I believe) but I'm having trouble running software.
